Ingredients
Here’s everything you need to whip up these banana bread breakfast bars by amateur baker Natasha Lycia Ora Bannan:
- 2 bananas
- ¼ cup coconut oil
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon sea salt
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ cup flour
- 1 cup steel cut oats
- ¼ cup white chocolate chips
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350 F. Natasha Lycia Ora Bannan recommends using an 8 x 8” glass baking dish, but the choice is all yours.
Step 2: Mash your bananas, ensuring that all chunks are broken down. Stir in coconut oil and brown sugar before combining egg, vanilla extract, sea salt, baking soda, flour and oats. It is okay if lumps remain, but Natasha recommends using a hand mixer to achieve a well-blended consistency, if desired.
Step 3: Place your mixture in the oven for 20 minutes or until the edges have browned.
Step 4: Remove your bars from the oven and slice into bars. Drizzle melted white chocolate over the top of each bar and voila — you have made Natasha’s banana bread breakfast bars!
