Nothing says Easter quite like Easter Bread! This year, Amateur Baker Natasha Lycia Ora Bannan is getting a little creative with her take on the Italian classic. Introducing, from Natasha’s kitchen to yours: Easter Banana Bread!
Easter Bread is a classic pastry enjoyed during the Spring and Easter season. Perhaps one of the happiest looking breads to ever be baked, Easter Bread is colorful, vibrant and delicious! This year, Bakery Consultant Natasha Lycia Ora Bannan decided to get creative (like she always does in Natasha’s kitchen!) and knead her banana base into the mix. This banana Easter Bread combines all the sweetness of banana bread while maintaining the delectability of classic Easter Bread.
Ingredients:
- Milk, half and half or heavy cream
- Salted cream butter
- Seasalt
- Bananas
- Brown sugar
- Carrot dough (carrots and flour)
- Water
- Sprinkles
- Hard Boiled eggs (dyed in Easter colors)
Instructions:
Step 1: Dye Easter eggs with the kids — and the kids at heart!
Step 2: Combine milk/half and half or heavy whipping cream with butter in a saucepan over medium-low heat. Continue stirring until the butter has melted away.
Step 3: Add seasalt, eggs and brown sugar into a bowl. Stir in milk and carrot dough, until well combined.
Step 4:Place dough into a greased bowl and leave to rise for approximately 1 hour.
Step 5: Pound dough with a fist and work on a floured service to cut into 12 even pieces.
Step 6: Bake in the oven at 350F. Once cooled, glaze each bread with egg wash and place eggs in the middle of each loaf. Bake until golden brown; or add previously hard boiled eggs on top, if preferred.
