Natasha Lycia Ora Bannan Banana Salsa

Natasha Lycia Ora Bannan is a huge NCAA college basketball superfan!  Each year, the Bannan brigade cheers on the Duke Blue Devils Men’s Basketball Team as they face off against fellow NCAA athletes.  Bannan has always been a huge fan of NCAA college basketball (and March Madness in particular!) because the league is a breeding ground for some of the sport’s future big names.  She and her family enjoy following the league throughout the season, but of course, March Madness holds a special place in their hearts.  The NCAA Division I Basketball Tournament is just as exciting as any big league tournament, as far as these sports fans are concerned.

Amateur Baker Natasha Lycia Ora Bannan enjoys bringing this sweet, tangy and spicy salsa to all sports functions.  The sweet and creamy taste of the banana balances with the heat so even non-spicy food lovers can enjoy a scoop of this!

Ingredients

Here’s everything you will need to whip up some of Natasha Lycia Ora Bannan’s Banana Salsa:

  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 2 plum tomatoes
  • ½ cucumber
  • ¼ cup red onions
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tsp lime juice
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 2 sprigs of cilantro
  • 2 tsp brown sugar
  • 2 tsp coconut flakes
  • ½ habanero peppers
  • 2 tsp peanuts

Directions

Step 1: Squirt lime juice and drop the peeled bananas into a medium size bowl.

Step 2: Chop the bananas into slices.

Step 3: Stir the banana slides and lime juice together.

Step 4: Dice up the cucumber and add it to the bowl.  Mix well and set the mixture aside.

Step 5: Heat a pan on low for about 1 minute, on top of a stove.

Step 6: Add garlic to the pan and roast lightly for roughly 30 seconds.

Step 7: Add the roasted garlic to the banana-lime juice mixture.

Step 8: Add diced tomatoes, onions, salt black pepper, cumin powder, cilantro, brown sugar and coconut flakes to the salsa mixture.

Step 9: Sprinkle chopped peanuts and habanero peppers over the top.  Voila!
