Natasha Lycia Ora Bannan, Amateur Baker and longtime Foodie, continues her summertime sweet treats series with a recipe for chocolate banana popsicles:
On a hot summer day, there’s nothing quite like a cold, sweet treat to cool you down and refresh your palate! Natasha Lycia Ora Bannan’s chocolate banana popsicles are perfect for the hottest summer days — or whenever you feel like having an ice, cold treat! The best part about this recipe is that the ingredients are simple and easy to find. As long as you have some bananas in your pantry: you should be good to go. Natasha’s best kept secret is to keep these pops on deck during the summer for those particularly hot nights or when you need a last minute treat for barbecue party guests.
Ingredients
Here’s what you will need to make Natasha’s chocolate banana popsicles:
- 2 cups of dairy-free milk
- 1 banana, sliced
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon semi-sweet chocolate morsels
Instructions
Step 1: Combine dairy-free milk, banana slices and vanilla extract in a blender. Blend until smooth, to ensure that all ingredients are well-combined. Amateur Baker Natasha Lycia Ora Bannan recommends pulsing the mixture a few extra times at the end, to make sure the consistency is perfectly creamy.
Step 2: Pour the banana mixture into popsicle molds. Then place your popsicles in the freezer, where they shall remain for roughly 1 hour.
Step 3: Melt your semi-sweet chocolate morsels over heat to achieve a liquid consistency. Then remove your popsicles from the mold to roll each one in the hot chocolate mixture. Allow pops to sit on parchment paper before returning them to the freezer.
Step 4: Wait 30 minutes before enjoying your chocolatey, banana-flavored sweet treat!
