The holidays are right around the corner! Leading up to holiday parties, family gatherings and fall festivities, Amateur Baker Natasha Lycia Ora Bannan is sharing her favorite recipes for pastries and sweet treats. Your friends and family will love these desserts! This week, Natasha is starting thing off with her recipe for a Chocolate Banana Braid Pastry:
Ingredients
Here is everything you will need for Amateur Baker and Banana Bread Baking Enthusiast Natasha Lycia Ora Bannan’s Chocolate Banana Braid Pastry:
- 2 bananas (sliced)
- 1 sheet puff pastry
- ¼ cup chocolate spread
- 1 large egg
Directions
Step 1: Roll out your puff pastry dough. Add a smooth layer of chocolate spread in the middle section. Natasha Lycia Ora Bannan loves her Chocolate Banana Braid Pastry on the chocolatier side. So feel free to be generous with your own chocolate spread!
Step 2: Add a layer of banana slices on top of the chocolate spread. It is okay if the bananas slightly overlap.
Step 3: Preheat the oven to 375 F.
Step 4: Cut off a triangle at the top right corner; repeat on the opposite side.
Step 5: Cut 1 inch diagonal slits along each side of the pastry.
Step 6: Fold each strip over the banana section of the pastry, to achieve a braid-like pattern.
Step 7: Brush the top of the chocolate banana braid with a large beaten egg before transferring to a baking sheet. Natasha Lycia Ora Bannan recommends laying a sheet of parchment paper down on your baking sheet before placing the pastry on top.
Step 8: Cook for 15 minutes and then allow to cool for 10 minutes before slicing.
