Ingredients
Here’s everything you will need for Natasha Lycia Ora Bannan’s delicious Banana Streusel Pie Recipe:
- 1 pastry shell (unbaked)
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ½ cup pineapple juice
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 5 to 6 ripe bananas
What really makes this pie feel like fall is the scrumptious streusel on top! For the streusel topping of Natasha’s baked banana pie, you will need:
- ½ cup flour
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ½ cup nuts of your choice
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ cup butter
Directions
Step 1: Bake your pastry shell at 450 for 10 minutes. Before placing the pastry shell into the oven, seal the top with foil.
Step 2: Combine brown sugar and cinnamon in a pan over medium heat. Bring to a boil and then add in pineapple juice and lemon juice. Reduce heat to low and cook until thickened, stirring regularly.
Step 3: Remove thickened syrup from the stovetop and fold in bananas. Then pour all ingredients into the prepared pastry shell.
Step 4: Prepare the streusel topping in a separate bowl by combining the brown sugar, nuts, butter and cinnamon. Sprinkle streusel over the banana pie.
Step 5: Cover edges of pie with foil and then place in the oven to cook for 40 minutes at 375.
